My Life : Chapter III

Feel like floating, just floating,
Go up and away,
To a place where no one can touch me
To a place where no one can hear me

Feel like screaming, just screaming,
So loud and clear,
So that everyone can hear me,
So that everyone can fear me

Feel like walking, just walking,
Into the sunset,
And leave all my baggage behind,
And leave all my thoughts behind

Feel like waking, just waking
In a new Sun,
And learn to think again,
And learn to learn again

Starcrossed

It's dark and scary in these mazes,
Of incomprehensible circles of thought,
Are these my own ideas?
Or have you really been through these phases

Phases that leave me high and dry,
It makes me question my actions of yore,
Oh how I lost everything to it,
Can't redeem myself now, so I cry

Cry i do, and also I ponder,
Over destiny and how it takes its course,
How sometimes you can just lose control
And stay in a trance, for years, I wonder

Wonder why, when we were starcrossed,
Why had we come to be?
What happens to all those dreams now
Somewhere, in your mind, they, are lost..

Second Best

In a far away and distant land,
I pack my bags, for I have to go home
I tell myself, yes maybe I can
Find you, and no longer be so lone

So, trembling, I arrive at your door,
You're radiant as ever, Blinding me out
You talk, I listen, My heart begins to soar,
But you're different, slowly you let it out

You miss someone, but that ain't me
You're thinking about him, all the time
Just when I thought," again, she likes me?",
You're singing about him, rhyme after rhyme.

That was my story when we first met,
It's still the same, and as I rest,
I cry in silence, my pillow is wet,
As i wonder, "Will I always be second best?"

All for the want of that one moment

Ah the city, it's the life you have always wanted
With the never ending joy and merriment
The lights, they shimmer, over souls so empty
And the people, who live just for the moment

I have been there too, longer than you
And I have seen it all, in stupefied wonderment
The happiness in those hollow faces
They don't care, it's all for that one moment

The ecstasy, the high, is too good
To reminisce about that old sentiment
The innocence of love is lost, is broken
Just for the want of those moments

So, go along, I won't stop you no more,
And drown yourself, in that warm current,
And bathe in the bright lights of the shady taverns,
Our bond, though old, now stands completely broken

The shining, it is a wonderful thing,
It draws you, you dance around it in amazement,
Eventually you grow tired but you need the light,
It's a habit before you know it, and it needs fulfillment.

And thus shall continue the story of your existence,
With your soul, now lost, how will you defend
Your deeds, to your future and the ones in it
So you won't, and they, will continue the trend

Long years hence, I hope you will remember
The conversation, that august evening, in the rain
You were not wrong and I was not right
And yet things came to such a shuddering end

I bid goodbye now, it is time to look ahead
And there are many things that I now need to mend
Have to pick up the pieces of my shattered soul
And in my own eyes, I need to ascend.

Falling

I stood there, with glorious dreams in my eyes,
Ignorant, aloof from this world full of lies,
I stood there, not knowing where to go,
And then,I found myself looking straight at you.

You stood there, like the source of all light,
I buckled, I was drawn, it was a feeling I couldn't fight,
I was falling, falling like never before,
I was losing myself, little by little, more and more.

I felt the light draw close everyday,
Until it was upon me, and all I could say,
Was 'You're Beautiful, Can I make you my own?',
And when she smiled, I felt joy I had never known.

But soon the days grew quiet, the nights darker,
The light had moved on, my loneliness, starker,
In my mind, I can still hear you calling,
Someday, I know, I will have to stop falling.

Midnight

It is midnight and it is cold
and there's nobody standing on the unfinished road
The air is heavy, the bells have tolled
Oh how could we have let this horror unfold?

The streets are weeping, there are tears of blood
For all the men and women, who were swept in the flood.
They were merely trying to rebuild the world,
Trying to keep the Jolly Roger from being unfurled

There were a few men, better than the others
Who rose, stepping on the corpses of their brothers
They corrupted souls, they grew black flowers,
They watch the fire spread from their tall, dark towers.

We are in Eden again, we see the serpent come close
It flows down from the Tree, a fruit, it shows
We know the story, and yet we chose
To give in and give up, and then we never arose

The good far outweighed the bad
But power and lust made the people go mad,
We fought for gold, we fought for land,
Did we take that with us, under the sand?

It is midnight and it is cold
and there's nobody standing on the unfinished road
They are sleeping, buried under the load
May there be peace in their final abode.
